  Undulatus Asperitas
 
 Diese wellenartigen und strukturreichen Wolkenformationen sind wenig bekannt und wurden erst 2009 als neue Wolkenart im
Internationalen Wolkenatlas der World Meteorological Organization klassifiziert und 2017 mit der offiziellen Bezeichnung Asperitas in die Wolkennomenklatur übernommen.
Diese Formationen treten etwas häufiger in den Staaten der Great Plains der USA auf, wo sie bevorzugt über den weiten Ebenen entstehen. Bei uns sind sie bislang eher selten zu beobachten.
